People have been striving for a better level of information and knowledge which have made many new education fields to open as well. PhD degree is a degree that is one of the highest degrees available to attain though some countries have some higher than PhD also but if looked all over the world, then PhD can be stated as the highest. There can be different criteria for completing the PhD depending on the country but one thing that can be seen common with all degree of PhD is that a candidate has to deposit a research thesis.

            The first PhD degree was awarded in the 12^th century but as being a very rare and unknown thing, its importance was no so significant. But nowadays, people respect this degree and consider it a very good achievement. Some companies may also prefer a PhD over other degrees even Masters. The degree can be taken in various courses and every year the number of students seems to have risen a lot in almost every field. The future may see more people with such degree as the level and competition between people may rise higher than what are visible now.
